Details of a 40-m-long by 80-m-wide composite geosynthetic liner consisting of a high-density polyethylene geomembrane (GM) overlying a geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) on top of a silty-sand foundation layer are reported. The GM/GCL experimental site was constructed to permit the field quantification of geomembrane wrinkles and a field assessment of GCL panel overlap stability. The specific construction details are presented. Preliminary results on geomembrane wrinkles, GCL hydration and panel overlap stability are presented. RESUME
