The inconsistent use of SME and entrepreneurship in the field of entrepreneurial business management has made the author to explore the discrepancy between SME and entrepreneurship studies. As a result, the paper distinguishes between SME and entrepreneurship by highlighting the similarities and differences between the two concepts. The paper concludes that entrepreneurship differs from SME in that entrepreneurship is a process leading to the creation of SMEs and business ventures while SME only represents firms or businesses in small and medium sizes.
