Antibacterial activities of three latex plants of Asclepiadaceae family used in traditional medicine in South Togo

Abstract

Infectious diseases remain a major public health problem throughout the world. They still represent the main cause of the high mortality rates recorded in developing countries, whereas, in industrialized countries, an alarming incidence of antibiotic resistance is observed. The emergence of multi-drug resistant phenotypes is a major public health problem in the treatment of bacterial infections (Okusa, 2012).
