SUMMARY A technique was developed for continuous collection of equine oviduct secretions. Oviduct fluids were collected twice a day from 5 Shetland mares for at least 3 estrous cycles. Differences in volume and pH of secretions were recorded for individual mares. Mares reached peak secretion by day 2 or 4 of standing estrus ( se ). Decreased volume was observed during the nonestrous ( ne ) phase of the cycle. Significant changes in pH were not observed between se and ne phases.
