A simple and quantitatively accurate representation of the current distribution in a dipole antenna is derived. Numerical data are given and are found to be in good agreement with the experiment when <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">h \geq O.15\lambda</tex> .
