Tourniquet-induced Changes of Energy Metabolism in Human Skeletal Muscle Monitored by Microdialysis

Abstract

Our microdialysis results demonstrate that the interstitial concentrations of glucose, lactate, and hypoxanthine, which are indicators of tissue ischemia, change more prominently after exsanguination than after circulatory occlusion alone.
