RPTLC determination of the lipophilicity of 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one derivatives substituted in the heterocyclic ring

Abstract

The relative lipophilicity ( RM0 ) and specific hydrophobic surface area of eight 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2 H )-one derivatives substituted in heterocyclic ring have been determined by reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography on RP-C18 plates with methanol-water, methanol-pH 1.95 glycine buffer, and methanol-pH 10.0 glycine buffer mixtures as mobile phases. RM0 values were calculated by linear extrapolation of retention to 100% water as mobile phase. Correlation between RM0 values and partition coefficient, log P , were examined.
