Abstract

Heavy ions of relatively low atomic number in the region above 108 cm/sec are considered. Available theory pertaining to heavy-ion behavior, a survey of experimental data, and a semiempirical correlation of a representative selection of these data are presented. Protons and alpha particles are also considered.
