Abstract This paper presents a general HPLC method for qualitative and quantitative analysis of mixtures of explosives. The method has successfully been tested on the following explosives: RDX, 2,4,6‐TNT, 2,4‐DNT, HMX, PETN, Tetryl, HNS, TNAZ and HNIW. The method permits a nine component explosive mixture analysis in less than 10 minutes. For HNIW and TNAZ the detection limit was less than 5 ng.
