One use of copper indium dis‐ elenide (CIS) is in photovoltaic devices. Low‐cost films produced by one‐step electrodeposition could replace the co‐evaporated films used currently if their quality could be improved. It is shown that annealing such CIS films in a selenium atmosphere dramatically improves both their structural properties, as illustrated by the scanning electron micrograph. and electronic properties. magnified image
