A self-routing WDM high-capacity SONET ring network

Abstract

A dynamic control mechanism, based on subcarrier-multiplexed pilot-tones and acoustooptic tunable filters, is proposed for wavelength routing in a high-capacity wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) SONET interoffice ring network.
