A novel electrolytic ammonia synthesis from methane and nitrogen gases in molten salt under atmospheric pressure is proposed. It was confirmed that ammonia was synthesized in LiCl-KCl-CsCl- (0.5 mol % added) melt at 773 K using following reactions; (anode), (cathode). On the other hand, ammonia was not synthesized in the same melt at 673 K.
