Abstract

Abstract By aerobic incubation of Cortexone with homogenates of beef adrenals the new 18‐hydroxy‐cortexone as well as the already known 19‐hydroxy‐compound are obtained. The implications of the presence of an 18‐hydroxylase for the postulated course of biosynthesis of aldosterone in vitro are discussed.
