Fast and drastic removal of LDL cholesterol, Lp(a), and fibrinogen from plasma results in an improvement of cerebrovascular reactivity in patients with coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia. The clinical use of HELP in patients with impaired cerebrovascular reactivity might be promising.
