A clinical condition is described in which symptoms of compression of the caudal nerve roots occur on standing or walking, but not at rest. The study discusses the nature of the abnormality. Seven cases were reported; myelography showed a lumbar block in every case, and surgery revealed narrowing of the spinal canal in part of its lumbar course, likely due to encroachment by the articular processes. Footnote references are provided.
