White-LEDs are produced with the addition of a silicone-composite layer containing light-emitting converter material on top of a high-performance blue-LED chip. The color reproduction was significantly improved in comparison with commercially available white-LEDs. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as "Supporting Information".
