The NEMP interventions reduced the average cost per prescription; however, the irrational use of antibiotics and unnecessary parenteral administration remains prevalent. The goals of the NEMP are partially achieved; we therefore recommend a strategic approach involving all stakeholders to comprehensively achieve all aspirations.
