Promoting Reflexivity in the Classroom

Abstract

In this article, we describe teaching strategies that promote reflexivity, a practice of observing and locating one's self as a knower within certain cultural and sociohistorical contexts. Reflexivity leads to self-awareness, scholarly accountability, and recognition of a range of human truths.
