Gelfoam-Induced Acute Quadriparesis After Cervical Decompression and Fusion

Abstract

There is potential for expansion of the Gelfoam sponge in enclosed spaces after spinal surgery. There is the possibility of neurologic compromise in these cases. Gelfoam should be removed.
