Selective single crystal complexation of l- or d-leucine by p-sulfonatocalix[6]arene

Abstract

p-Sulfonatocalix[6]arene, organised in the 'double cone' conformation, has multi-guest capability binding either L- or D-leucine in a single crystal in a bi-layer type arrangement from a racemic mixture of the amino acid.
