The first ionothermal synthesis of a germanium phosphate with one-dimensional chain-like structure

Abstract

A novel germanium phosphate with a chain-like framework constructed from GeO(4)N(2) octahedra and PO(4) tetrahedra, [NH(4)](2)[Ge(NH(3))(2)(PO(4))(2)]·0.38H(2)O, was first synthesized via in situ decomposition of urea from ionic eutectic mixtures comprising urea and quaternary ammonium salts.
