Abstract

Lead‐calcium alloys containing from 0.04 to 0.10 per cent calcium have combined physical, metallurgical, and electrochemical properties which recommend them as a superior material for storage cell grids and plates. Batteries containing elements made of these alloys, when properly heat‐treated, should have a high efficiency and long service life. These new alloys can be satisfactorily cast, rolled, welded, machined, and burned.
