Abstract

When stroke, after cardiac surgery, is subdivided into early and delayed forms, it becomes evident that early, but not delayed stroke, demonstrates a hemispheric side difference. The preponderance for right-hemispheric lesions may indicate embolic mechanisms routed via the brachiocephalic trunk.
