Statistical Methods for Bioavailability and Bioequivalence

Abstract

Four aspects of bioavailability are discussed: (i) a brief review of bioavailability and bioequivalence in pharmaceutical research in the past 20 years, (ii) statistical contributions to that research, especially in the 1970's, (iii) new statistical ideas in this application area in the first three years of the 1980 decade, and (iv) an evaluation of these new ideas, what is yet needed, and what might be done in the future.
