Abstract

Propagation measurements have been performed in office buildings under a number of different radio path conditions. The relative merits of space and polarisation diversity were measured under the same path conditions, using a dual channel narrow band system operating at 900 MHz. The polarisation of the mobile terminal was varied, and found not to be a major factor for either path loss or diversity performance. Space and polarisation diversity gave diversity gains of 8-10 dB, with polarisation diversity showing a marginally better performance.
