Soil Modulus for Laterally Loaded Piles

Abstract

Using results from lateral load test on 24 in. pipe pile and laboratory tests on undisturbed clay samples, tentative procedure for estimating soil modulus of pile reaction is developed for problems involving transient loads; correlation derived is based on similitude on logarithmic paper of laboratory stress strain curve and soil reaction deflection curves from pile test.
