CD44v6 expression in thymic epithelial neoplasms demonstrated a significant difference based on the World Health Organization classification, the Masaoka stage (invasive vs. noninvasive tumors), and recurrence, if an appropriate cutoff value was chosen in each case. This suggests that CD44v6 can be used as a marker that reflects the stage of thymic tumors.
