Electron impact excitation of Be⁺:a benchmark study

Abstract

Calculations of the cross section for excitation of the 2p state of Be+, and for the polarisation of the emitted radiation, have been performed using Coulomb-Born and close-coupling approximations. The results are compared with recent absolute measurements.
