Dose Distributions about¹³⁷Cs Sources in Tissue

Abstract

Calculations of depth doses about 137Cs sources prove that the cesium depth dose data differ from those for equivalent radium sources at oblique points beyond the active length because of the difference in filtration between the steel and the platinum walls. The variations of the depth dose ratio of cesium over radium normalized at a fixed point in tissue are presented. Tables of depth dose data for commercially available 137Cs sources are given.
