Abstract

Power electronics models of converters are useful in a huge set of applications. They are used for component sizing, as well for control adjustment, control or behavior simulation. In this context, average models are a good compromise between complexity, computing time and acceptable accuracy for other users. However, they may be difficult to create, especially when the structures of the studied converters are complexes and their control involves uncontrolled commutations. So, the paper deals with a software tool called AMG (Averaged Model Generator) that allows to build automatically several models from the description, the operating mode and the control of the static converter, this model generator allows to create automatically several kinds of averaged models: the large signal average model, the small signal average model, the equivalent average generator and the generalized average model. A symbolic approach is used to create the models. The approach is applied to a resonant converter. The generated models are implemented in Matlab/Simulink and compared to a reference simulation given by PORTUNUS.
