Abstract

As a silicon analogue of metal alkylidyne complexes, the title compound offers new perspectives in organosilicon chemistry. The high synthetic potential of 1 is demonstrated by a series of reactions that provide access to the first anionic silylidene complexes and dianionic silyl complexes (see scheme; Nu= Cl, N3, CH3; R=C6H3-2,6-Trip2).
