Abstract

Micro construction sites: Engineered peptides and ligand-functionalized gold nanoparticles have been assembled into micrometer-scale 3D cube-shaped crystals (see picture), creating a physical framework for a biomimetic assembly strategy. The NPs join the peptide nanowires through streptavidin–biotin interactions to create cubic unit cells. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
