Abstract

Abstract A technique for radical dissection of the superior mediastinum which includes the repositioning of the trachea has been described with emphasis upon the importance of protecting the trachea from the great vessels. This procedure, as used upon six cases of recurrent stomal cancer after laryngectomy, is described in detail. The feasibility of adapting this technique to control and cure advanced subglottic lesions is suggested.
