Abstract

The catalytic activities of ruthenium-based catalysts (5 wt% Ru) supported on alumina, ceria and ceria/alumina with different proportions of ceria ( n Ce10Al, n = 1, 3, 5; n = atomic ratio) were studied for the methane reforming reaction with CO 2 (CH 4 /CO 2 = 1) in the temperature range of 400–800 °C. Evaluation of coke deposited after the reaction showed carbon deposition on Ru catalysts supported on CeO 2 , 1Ce10Al and 3Ce10Al, but not on Ru/Al 2 O 3 and Ru/5Ce10Al. Moreover, the sample Ru/5Ce10Al exhibited a higher activity than the other catalysts.
