Polymer fibers provide a platform for a number of diverse applications, including drug encapsulation, biosensing, filtration, fuel cells, composites, and nanoelectronics [1-3]. Among the advanced processing techniques that have been used to produce fibers from natural and synthetic polymers, the electrospinning process provides the simplest approach to prepare nano-or microscale diameter fibers that are exceptionally long, uniform in shape, and diverse in composition By utilizing electrostatic interactions and elongation of the viscoelastic jet system, electrospinning can prepare ultrafine fibers from a polymer solution or molten sample adopting a simple one-step process. Numerous polymers have been reported to be electrospun into nanofibers for functional applications in the literature [1-6].
