Abstract

This article describes an application of a computer to the aerodynamic design and automatic control of a large wind tunnel. A new mathematical approach was used to avoid singularities in the partial differential equations governing the flow. The work was started in 1953 on the ACE Pilot model at the N.P.L., Teddington, and completed on one of the DEUCE computers at the R.A.E., Farnborough.
