Abstract

The molecular composition of liquid sulfur has been a topic of discussion for generations. It was known to contain the homocyclic species S 6 and S 7 , as well as S 8 . The isolation of S 12 , α‐S 18 , and S 20 , and the detection of S x with x = 23—34 are new accomplishments.
