Late Transition Metal Complexes: Catalysts for a New Generation of Organic Polymers

Abstract

Long-chain-branched copolymers 2 can be prepared from ethene and acrylates (R′  Me, tBu, CH2(CF2)6CF3) with the PdII catalysts 1. Copolymers of this type were previously produced exclusively by radical routes in high-pressure processes. Propene/carbon monoxide copolymers (polyketones) have been obtained with other PdII complexes.
