Abstract

Abstract Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy is used to investigate the molecular dynamics of liquid crystalline side chain polymers. The purpose of this comparative study is to show the influence of chemical and structural variations on the molecular dynamics and thus to contribute on the general understanding of the relaxation behaviour. On the basis of our recent measurements and by comparison to the data in literature we are able to give a detailed interpretation of the different processes in terms of basic molecular movements.
