Organoplatinum Building Blocks for One‐Dimensional Hydrogen‐Bonded Polymeric Structures

Abstract

Strong hydrogen bonds (Cl … HO 161(15)°; Cl …O 3.127(8) Å) lead to self-assembly of the para-hydroxyaryldiamineplatinum complex 1 to form linear, one-dimensional organometallic polymeric chains. The molecular building blocks in the polymer chain are oriented as a result of the directionality of the hydrogen bonds.
