Improvement of Date Rate by using Equalization in an Indoor Visible Light Communication System

In this paper, an optical wireless communication system that uses white LEDs is described. Equalization is employed at the receiver to improve the data rate. Simulation shows a highly reliable communication channel with an SNR of up to 81 dB. Moreover, the data rate can be improved from 16 Mb/s to 32 Mb/s NRZ-OOK at a BER of 10 <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">-6</sup> .
