Abstract

Pyridoxine-dependent seizures are due to an inborn abnormality in the pyridoxine-dependent synthesis of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). The progressive MR changes may be due to chronic excitotoxicity caused by an imbalance of cerebral levels of GABA and glutamic acid.
