Simvastatin Inhibits Inflammatory Properties of <i>Staphylococcus aureus</i> α-Toxin

Abstract

These results demonstrate that simvastatin interferes with exotoxin-induced leukocyte-endothelial cell interactions, which may be relevant in various infectious diseases. Statin treatment may offer a new therapeutic strategy for these clinical conditions.
