Resonant Frequencies of Rectangular Dlekctric Resonators

Abstract

The resonant frequencies of isolated dielectric resonators of rectangular shape are calculated using the dielectric waveguide model. The waveguide treatment of the rectangular dielectric rod is solved using the approximate semianalytical techniques of Marcatili, Knox, and Toulios. The accuracy with measured frequencies appear satisfactory with the former approach.
