Specifically, nurses are invited to consider an approach to family nursing practice that evolves out ofa contextual worldview and incorporates the philosophy and principles of interpretive phenomenological inquiry. Aframework for contextual family nursing is presented. This framework includes a description of the nature of family, the underlying principles of contextual/phenomenological nursing practice, and the activities inherent in actualizing phenomenologicalfamily nursing.
