Abstract Prandtl's eddy diffusion model was successfully extended to turbulent momentum, energy, and mass transfer in nonisothermal free jets by taking into account the effect of change in volume of traveling eddies. The present model was experimentally confirmed for the high temperature, low velocity, turbulent free jets produced by combustion of methane gas.
