REVIEW OF THE METHODS FOR ACUTE AND CHRONIC TOXICITY ASSESSMENT OF SINGLE SUBSTANCES, EFFLUENTS AND INDUSTRIAL WATERS

Abstract

This article is a survey of methods applied in EU, USEPA, and Environment Canada for the acute and chronic toxicity assessment of chemicals, effluents, and industrial waters. Similarities and differences in aims of these methods, test organisms used, duration of tests are presented and discussed.
