Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>–CeO<sub>2</sub>/SBA-15 monolith can efficiently filter and catalyze the soot particles. The optimized one exhibited a low <italic>T</italic><sub>10</sub> (293 °C) and <italic>T</italic><sub>90</sub> (378 °C).
