Abstract

Serum ghrelin levels peak around mid-gestation in human pregnancy. Ghrelin levels during pregnancy are at their lowest in the third trimester at a time of increased body weight, development of insulin resistance and high serum levels of PGH. However, no associations were observed between ghrelin and the two growth hormones.
