Impact of commissioner background on FCC decisions: 1962–1975

Abstract

The author, a member of the information sciences faculty at Illinois State University (Bloomington), here provides an update to Lichty's classic two‐part analysis of FRC and FCC Commissioner backgrounds, published here nearly 15 years ago. He notes that many of the trends noted by Lichty have continued in more recent years, especially the importance of politics in initial appointment to the FCC.
